I will be frank, here, and note that although I have had good success as a classroom teacher when preparing students for standardized test prep, I have publicly spoken out against standardized testing fever.

On the other hand, I recognize that testing is part of life, and have had good outcomes with helping my own children prepare for standardized tests, by reviewing strategies and approaching these tests with confidence.

Although I do not prepare students for SATs, LSATs, MCATs, GREs, I do work with students who wish to expand their vocabularies in preparation for those tests because expanding vocabulary is a fine goal, and I am interested in helping students boost their performance on essay portions of city-wide tests, Regents, AP English and SATs. I have had good luck with short-term coaching for the New York CIty Specialized High School test and when the preparation itself it is part and parcel of the larger and more valuable work of improving scholastic performance across the board, I enjoy helping students to prepare for tests.
